Sparkie the Donkey

As a tiny trembling foal, he was transported from N. Ireland to Henley market for sale, in a box load of adult horses, also distressed & agitated. He was in danger of being trampled to death, but no one seemed interested in buying him. Even if he survived the day, he would have faced the arduous journey back to Ireland that night. How could we leave him? So home he came, 4 years ago and has become a real little terror!

Showing scant gratitude to his rescuers, one of his antics is braying noisily at 4am and setting off all the local dogs! He loves herding the sheep in at dusk and then demands his favourite treat, a bottom scratch!
